The art of the artists and Parisians

So I didn't do the Louvre - kinda. But I saw an amazing amount of art.

Momo is a beat boy, a dancer better than I have ever encountered, and though I only got peeks of what he could do I was treated to glimpses of greatness...

The graffiti art that I was directed to in Paris was absolutely beautiful. Popof was met in the midst of creating this...

Perhaps the best thing about it was that everyone - EVERYONE - there enjoyed it. Next to where this mural was being created was some sort of Polka oriented dancing event where people of ALL ages were dancing away.

As the wall was being painted the guests at the Polka-thon ventured over to enjoy it, talking with the artists and taking pictures...

Something tells me that this kind of general social acceptance and appreciation would not happen here. I feel as though most people who would be the type to go to a dancing picnic (especially an all ages ones) would feel that this kind of street art is simply tagging; vandalism created by punks.

*NOTE* spray paint is illegal (unavailable for purchase) in the city of Chicago.

But the French really have a taste for art, no matter what kind...

I even met some photographers and other artists...

... who directed me to find more "Artof Popof"...

I was also treated to the art from other artists.

I also got to enjoy some random trucs of art around Paris...

... and this one just because drawing mustaches on things that SO not have them is funny. And on a woman picture?... killer!

Then there was the soccer ball magician at Sacre Coere...

... but really it's the video of this man perform hos craft that says it all...

No matter where I looked it seemed as though the arts were everywhere. And then there's the buildings and structures...

  1. I will never look at graffiti in quite the same way! Your photos gave me an appreciation of street art as I've never had before - thanks Kyle!
