Les Petit trucs de Paris (pt 3)

Paris: the city of love. It seemed that everywhere I looked I was reminded of this. When I woke up in the morning I seemed to be dragging my feet a little from the sword I carried the night before, and when I looked down to see what the problem was...

...I was reminded that the day is bound to be great. How could it not be?! I was still in Paris. The city in every way welcomed me from day one...

... though on this day I felt that the welcome mat might not be everywhere as it were before.

When i went back down to the metro I was delighted to find these seats...

... it put a simple smile on my face. For no rhyme or reason there was the random purple chair. Why that chair? why purple? SO RANDOM...

but not as random as the girl who actually brought her own chair onto the metro. I guess there's one way to guarantee a seat on the train.

I got off at the Louvre, and discovered two things.

1) Parisians, or at least people in Paris, seem to all have really tall invisible friends

and 2) One out of four people don't follow the norm.

Also...

Also, it appears Jesus is not welcome to visit the Louvre...

... and some people really buy into the adage "if you want it done right you're best to do it yourself." Though it was not the first bride I saw in Paris it was the first time that I saw a groom so heavily involved/hands on with the wedding photos.

When I left the Louvre I walked past this building.

Sadly, it was not until I was stopped outside the parlor across the street (some 13 minutes later) did I notice that it was not that there was construction being done on the building...

...but that it was what the building looked like. It was designed in a way that the guts of the building were worn on the outside of it.

I soon discovered that there was a different way to look at things. By the time I arrived at the point of the "ile de ville" I was ready to just enjoy my seat and view. I let my eyes wander as they had so often before, and before long I discovered this message written on the stone below where I sat...

I love finding kooky little things like that, things that are proof that someone else in this world thinks the same way that I do

And some are the way we all should be...

Or maybe I just needed to notice the really funny looking things...

I am a 30 year old man, and yet I find this funny to this day. As you read this look at the above picture again, and let the little kid inside of you enjoy it.

After I spent some time looking around I began to walk again. The few nights before I had passed this large "sheet" hiding construction. It was on this night that I stopped to pay attention to it. It was not a translucent sheet, but rather a white canvas with a building drawn onto the side of it to give such an appearance.

Seriously. Look again. Instead of simply covering the building with a plain cloth/covering they actually took the time to make it look like it was somewhat see through.

Only in Paris...

...does God remind us that He is the ultimate artist (or that at least He has the best colors!)

Enchanted by what I had newly begun to discover I went out wandering again. Once more I was presented with the Parisian love of the mustache...

... though this one seemed to be a little creepier than the rest.

However...

...it was not the goofiest hair-do that I saw that night.

I followed  the path that seemed the longest...

...found my big green pepper after all...

... and locked myself into my bag to get ready to sleep (on the bench in front of mon p'tit chou - the Eiffel Tower)

How good life is in Paris!
